The journey that Friends Good Will has taken began with an idea. It was then incubated by several individuals who approached the Michigan Maritime Museum with the idea. With the museum's approval, they then approached Scarano Boat Building, Inc. in Albany, New York for a design of this class of ship. Thus, the birthing process began.
